Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a preventable and treatable disease with airflow limitation and
is currently the fourth leading cause of death worldwide. As an effective treatment, mechanical ventilation is
widely used in the treatment of COPD. However, the West can only alleviate the symptoms of patients, and the
therapeutic effect still needs to be improved. Constantly seeking a safer and more effective treatment plan is
currently the focus of clinical treatment of the disease. At the same time, the quality of care during the
mechanical ventilation treatment directly affects the effects and complications of mechanical ventilation
therapy. If improper care, it is prone to complications such as catheter blockage, prolapse, lung infection,
decreased oxygen saturation, heartbeat, mouth ulcers and erosion, hemorrhoids, psychological disorders,
malnutrition, etc., endangering the lives of patients. Therefore, based on the basic idea of comprehensive
nursing intervention, this study combines COPD with self-made supplementing Qi and activating blood
circulation method through integrated Chinese and Western medicine. The results of this study showed that the
self-made Supplementing Qi and activating blood circulation Decoction combined with mechanical ventilation
treatment was superior to the treatment group using mechanical ventilation alone. This is conducive to early
relief of the patient's symptoms and stabilize the condition as soon as possible. It is hoped that this study will
provide new treatment methods and theoretical basis for patients with qi and blood stasis.
