Evaluation of Standardised Protocol for the Management of Malaria
Paediatric hospital wards in developing countries have failed to respond adequately to the challenge of saving
severely sick children. Problems have been identified in triage and emergency care, in monitoring procedures and follow-up of treatment guidelines, and in the unavailability of drugs. To make supervision and corrections more acceptable we decided to offer a small financial incentive, we evaluated in a randomised trial whether a standardised protocol for the management of malaria.
